They make me think that the ringmaster is showing me the hoop that I have to jump through and will sooner rather than later have as an unavoidable part of my new and more secure life. It predisposes me to render unto them no obediant act or information unless absolutely unavoidable, and reluctantly at best. Maybe it's just me but I am unconvinced I am alone in this.
